A blog dedicated to gorgeous cats with enigmatic and epigrammatical stories and photos. Lesser subjects, such as life and love could also be touched upon now and then. We don't deal with mean and petty things and stay away from trashy trends. Miscellanea and tidbits of all sorts may occasionally find expression here.

Birthday party
A week or so ago we held a modest celebration for two of the cats, Wimbelina and Joely Pants both three years old on the day. Naomi sadly enough didn't make it, she passed away suddenly two months ago. On the day, the cats received a special treat - a cake made of torskerogn, cat biscuits and cream cheese on top. Torskerogn is canned cod eggs, a popular dish for humans in Denmark. There are many different brands and the price and quality varies a lot. A danish paper carried out a test of different brands of torskerogn recently. The main finding was, there ain't much cod eggs in torskerogn despite the name. So what's in it for God's sake? Difficult to tell but mainly eggs from other fish types like catfish who are more prevalent in the sea water these days and hence easier to catch. All the six cats received a small cake made of the mentioned dubious ingredients. We were expecting a ferocious devouring of the cakes but instead the cats acted strangely disengaged, hardly bothering to take a bite, as if they were guests at some diplomatic reception where people are sipping and munching with impressive self control, due probably to having dined elsewhere beforehand (or plan on binge eating in the aftermath). We are still at a loss as to why that was so, maybe the recipe wasn't right or maybe the cats came full to the party. A little downer that was really, but hey, that's life - you can't always get what you want!
